GRIEVANCE AWARD

 

Grievance # M-06-08 Filed by the Local Committee on behalf of all IAM-M employees

Grievance filed due to:

The company had arbitrarily changed the application of the A ttendance C ontrol P rogram (ACP) in the method used to progress an employee to the second and subsequent steps. We felt this was a violation of LOA #9.

Remedy sought by Union

To revert back to the pervious method of progression on the ACP until a new program application has been worked out between the Company and the Union .

History of Grievance

This grievance was filed by your local committee on behalf of all IAM-M covered members on February 14, 2008 . It was denied at the first step and a second step hearing was held on March 3 rd , 2008. A decision was rendered on March 19, 2008 awarding the grievance to the Union .

Grievance Settlement

The company agrees that they will revert to the previous method of the application of the ACP until such time a new method is implemented that has been worked out between the Company and the Union .

Note* An employee can still be brought up on charges of excessive absenteeism or excessive tardy's under the Company's House Rule violations.

*This award applies only to employees covered under the Mechanics & Related Agreement.*
